My 74 Charger was missing a few of the studs for the trim clips. I used stainless screws to install the clips where the studs were missing. It works as long as you don't overtighten the screws. I slid the clips down over the screws then tightened enough to keep the screw in and the clip in...
I must confess, I wasn't always into Mopars. In 1964, my first set of wheels was a Sting-Ray. It is blue just like my 71 Challenger I bought in 1972, my 74 Charger I bought in 1987 and my 2015 Challenger R/T I bought in 2015. Its number is D438274 with a manufacture date of April 14, 1964. My...
Since the body shop who did the work lost the tags, you should subtract the cost of replacement tags from the bill they send you for their work. I f you already paid them, send them the bill for the cost of the replacement tags. A reputable shop would pay for the replacements.

It's a good thing you have photos of the tags. I guess what I don't understand is why he needed the tags. I have learned from this and others that this has happened to, that I would never send the tags to a shop when work needs to be done on the car. I hope things work out for you.

I agree it is probably more work and money than it's worth. I had the 70 grille ( 3 of them actually), headlight bezels, fenders, braces, R/T hood, etc. already so it is costing me nothing to switch from the 72 front end and my car was missing the entire front clip anyway, so... Enjoy your car...
Just remember if you decide to put a 70 grille in a 72 fender, you have to weld in the 70/71 headlight bucket assemblies to the fenders to make it work.

1971 Challenger grilles are very hard to find. A 1970 grille is much easier. Both require changing to the 1970/71 front fenders to allow an easy headlight installation. Headlight bezels are required for 70/71 grille. Changing of the fenders requires different side marker lights and wiring...
The photos in my post above of the socket on light bar and the bulb/wire are on my 72 Challenger but the fender tag does not have the A01 light group on the fender tag. It may have been standard on the 72 E-bodies but not on the 70/71 E-bodies. I don't know.

Here's the light I think you are talking about that illuminates the wiper switch panel. This is the non-ralley instrument cluster on my 72 Challenger.

Here is the heater cable clamp on my 72 Challenger heater box. It is just like these used on many Mopars then.

You may be able to find them cheaper elsewhere. I did the bulkhead connection box wiring and the engine side plugs on the harnesses in about an hour with these tools. It takes practice but I got quick at it.

Here's for the Molex plugs.

Yes. I use the tools in this photo to remove the wires in the plastic housings. I use the flat pronged ones to depress the tang on the wire connector and slide it out of the plastic housing. You could probably make one out of a thin piece of stiff metal like an old jewelers screwdriver. You will...
