Ok, I'm a girl that knows nothing about classic cars. My BF owns a 73 Cuda. He's wanting to add an AAR hood and I'm wanting to surprise him with it and the air filter system to go with it. I recently bought him a new Holley 850 carb to go on it. If he's switching to the AAR hood, what air filter components do I need to get? Will he use original air filter, or will he need to switch to the 6 pac type arrangement for optimal performance and will it work with the carb I just got him?

A 4-barrel air cleaner from a b-body with Air Grabber hood might work. The factory AARs had a huge air cleaner that sealed against the underside of the hood. The b-body setup has the seal ON the hood. A shaker base might work also and seals in a similar fashion as the AAR.

Does your BF have a stock height intake or a high rise? Pics would help us.
