Interesting information on the company that manufactured the original ebody rugs! They made a lot of textile products back then.

Finally installed the backing plates and centric rotors, a little progress.
Picked up two NOS grease caps.

Picked them up from Rick Ehrenberg, a little pricey but I looked and looked and could not find originals or even correct replacements that actually fit.
None of the other replacements I found (Rock Auto, and ebay sales) was the correct depth or diameter.
Bit the bullet and picked them up to finish the job.

Picked up a Cool Tool for Installing spindle grease dust caps.
I was always guilty when I worked as a mechanic to just hit the cap on the outside with a hammer to install on customers cars and on even my own autos.
This made it easy and dent free.

Just like most, I have always just hit it with a hammer, or in a pinch, the pliers I was using. I never even knew there was a tool for this.
And that is one fine tool you have there.

I normally tap them in gently with a screwdriver against the lip keeping it even and gently taping the screwdriver handle with a small hammer most of the other guys just belt them with a hammer but that tool looks awesome.

I got tired of tearing them up. I made a tool as well from pipe that works great. It makes a big difference.

Regarding dust caps - a word of caution
I originally went to Rock Auto to order the caps
Their menu called for Dorman part number 13976 for the 70-71 Challenger/Cuda
DO NOT BUY THIS PART- WAY TOO SMALL FOR THE APPLICATION.

Right side brake caliper bracket cleaned up and prepping for an installation.
Date coded 267 day of 1969 = September 24th.
Original bracket about 2 weeks earlier then SBD
I like to record part numbers and dates as I disassemble clean up and reassemble.

Left side caliper bracket dated 279-9 = October 9th, the week of the SBD of my Challenger

Finally got the inner fenders/radiator frame stripped, epoxy primed and painted.
Ready to install the right side suspension/brake components

Yes, I was going to black out the core support and cowl.
What is the best black paint to do this?
The original looked like flat black.
Any thoughts?
