Gas gauge not working after tank swap

Hi all, I need some advice. I bought an all original 74 Challenger Rally. The gas gauge was working. I noticed that the corner of the tank was sleeping, so I bought a new gas tank, and took it to a garage to have it installed. I had read that the new sending units are not very accurate, so I...

Need help to troubleshoot gas sending unit

Getting my 74 Challenger ready for the season. Gas gauge does not work. Previous owner said the gauge worked until he had the gas tank replaced. Original sending unit was used with the new tank, so I feel it has to be some type of wiring/grounding issue. The car currently has almost a full...

70 Challenger RT 383 went through Friday Mecum Auction

I have read many horror stories about cars bought at big auctions. Presented well, but later found that many corners were cut.

    Modern battery operated tools

I bought a brand name battery operated "kit" years ago, and it was junk. That soured me on them, so I bought corded and air. I know they have made major advances since then, but at my age, I'm just too old to start replacing everything. Glad to hear that they are now viable tools, and they can...

    Build sheet question

On the build sheet for my 74 Challenger there is a "Sequence Number" and then in the Vin area, there is a "Sequential Number", and they are different. If the sequential number in the Vin refers to the assembly line sequence, what does the other sequence number mean?

    Challenger flip gas cap question

So basically, just take off the old cap, take out the screws, put on the trim ring and new assembly, and get a new gas cap?

Looking for rear window louvers for 74 Challenger

I'm looking to install rear window louvers on my 74 Challenger. I know originals will be hard to find. I saw an ad for louvers from Astra Hammond that attach to the glass and was wondering if anyone has experience with them

WTB Looking for Cuda driver in Pa.

Looking for a 70-74 Cuda driver in Pa. Nothing smaller than a 340. AT okay, but prefer 4-speed. Prefer numbers matching but not a deal breaker. Some body rust ok as long as bones are solid. Not looking for restored, show car, trailer queen. Just want something I can drive and work on. Getting...

FOR SALE 1969 Dodge Charger for sale.

I have one simple rule. If I can't inspect the car and check the title, I don't consider it. Needless to say, I don't get involved in internet sales from across the country. I've had friends buy cars that were totally misrepresented.

FOR SALE Awesome 1973 Plymouth Barracuda

Another thing to consider is if the guy you got the car from has gone/is going bankrupt. The court may confiscate the vehicle from the current owner who now becomes a creditor. I was told they can go back 3 years. This is because people who plan on going bankrupt often try to sell off as many...

What do you use on your vinyl top?

Thanks for the info, everyone. Someone told me to use the wax shoe polish. Has anyone ever tried that?

What do you use on your vinyl top?

Probably been asked before but I couldnt find anything. My vinyl top is looking a little dingy, and I dont know what to use to give it that original black shine. I've been told not to use Armorall because it dries out the vinyl. What do you guys use?

Thoughts. Plymouth Barrucuda/Cuda v Dodge Challenger

I've owned both. I guess I've always liked the Cuda a little more, but they are much pricier nowadays. You can find a reasonably priced Challenger, but you cant seem to find a reasonably priced Cuda, so if cost is an issue, go with the Challenger. You will get more car for your dollar.

What would you offer for a Cuda AAR project?

I am going to go look at an AAR that has been garaged since 1979. Guy says its not in bad shape. All original and numbers matching. He says he wants around $25k. I've always wanted an AAR and can't afford a restored one, so I figure a project is the only way to go. Payment plan, so to speak -...
