    WTB Roof Skin pieces

I have a couple of patch sections to replace on my roof skin, towards the lap seam with quarter on driver and passenger side. Long shot, but I know a few people have swapped out roof skins recently. Figured I would see if anyone would cut and sell me sections from your scrap parts. It doesn't...

Can someone measure drivers side door mount bolts to /cowl flat?

Working on drivers pillar. I got it into place where it needs to be for glass/trim and aligned with the holes in the cowl side panel. It however leaves about .5" of space between the flat section of upper cowl/firewall/top of a pillar. I was working on clamping the replacement cowl down and...

Holes in Rear Flange of Package Tray

Working on my 71 and repairing a piece of the back flange. I note the rear flange on the package tray which spot welds to the upper trunk filler/dutchman panel has various large and small holes in it. Given that it welds behind the dutchman what are these holes used for? These appear to be factory.

    FOUND 71 Challenger Cowl Grilles/Screens

Anyone have a decent set of 71 clip/screw cowl screen covers? It'll be a couple years until I need a nice set, but I am currently mocking up the cowl before I install it. The version I have is screw on, but my factory version is clip and screw. I've used transfer paper to transfer and drill...

    Dutchman/Filler Panel Install

I've been working on installing a new filler panel. I noticed that it seems to sit proud of the quarter panel by 1/4 or 1/8 or so. I've not installed it yet but the quarters have not moved(on purpose) from the old dutchman. Wondering if I should slightly jack up the quarters though to make it...

    Questioning on Frame Dimensions

I'm going through and tramming out all my measurements. It is my understanding I need to setup points x, located at the gauge hole areas in center of car. This measurement is 6" to datum, which could be the floor if exactly 6". Then for example point d at rear of frame rail would be 18.25...

    Manual Swap in 70-71 E-Body

I was initially planning on swapping the front and rear IRS, and a NAG-1 into my 71 E-body. I've since decided to stay with original suspension, and put in a modern hemi and a manual transmission. I've been looking at the Tremec t56's and it looks like a substantial amount of cutting of the...

    Front and Rear Windshield Measurements

    70-71 Challenger Front Windshield/Apillar Measurements

Hi all working on my 71, and can't seem to locate my drivers pillar where I had all my measurements on. Can someone measure the distance across rom a driver to passenger a pillar at the top and bottom? A measurement in the center of the windshield from top of channel to channel on upper cowl...

    Sail Panel Seam

Working through some rust repair on my 71. I don't intend to relead this seam. Through research I've discovered that the suggested action is to weld the seam solid, then come in with a metal filler over the top. It gets welded solid, and then light coats of filler. I was curious as to if...

Bumper Bracket Removal 71 Chal Rt

Have the 4 3/4" head bolts loosened up so I can slightly move the brackets. I am having trouble getting the bolts all of the way out. I've tried ratchets, as well as an impact. My thought is that there is likely a u nut on the back side, in the frame rail that is broken. Thus the bolt just...

    Quarter Seam Fixes

Not interested in leading the roof to quarter seam. It will be welded. Have researched two options, the first is to weld it solid, finish it with grinder, use weld through primer, bridge it with metal and then weld that solid. Followed by a little filler. Second option, cut that joint out...

    Books for 71 Challenger Restoration

Just curious as to what books I should pickup to help me? I know I need some kind of book that lists hardware sizes/types, and one that details correct placement of emblems. Any suggestions? Thanks
