Hello e body dudes. Just retired last year and am almost finished building my place in Sequim wa.
Going to swap out the dash , put in a four speed , and rebuild the 340.
I have been collecting parts and this fall I should be ready to start the fun.
I hope to learn some things from you guys when the time comes.

Thanks moparlee,rbbruno3, and detmatt1.
Found the car in Krum Texas. It had good bones. Was a Cal car originally six banger.

Welcome from Leavenworth, Washington!

Just a thought, why put in a 4 spd, when you can put in a 5 spd? I love my overdrive.

Welcome to the forum “Knute” from SoCal. I have one of those ‘70 6-banger Challengers. Have been to your area of Sequim several times. My wife and I have very old and dear friends who moved to Port Ludlow over 10 years ago. So we’ve been up to see them many times.

I have a Tremec TKO 600, with a hydraulic clutch. It fit the tunnel without any cutting. It did almost touch on a small spot on the right side, but I used a pry bar to push the tunnel out a bit. And the shifter was nicely in the center of the factory hole. There are different configurations (shifter locations) so do your research.

A fella named hemi George took the guts out of a 70 440 six pack car and put them in an 833, I believe it will work nicely with my 355 .
