That is pretty cool! Reading one of the comments from the article. They claim previously to use mustang convertibles.

The U-2 has been around for a long time now.
Lots of different model chase cars were used throughout the years.
Forgot what was commonly used during the 1970's, my Air Force years.

I live pretty close to Beale AFB in CA and I think they use Camaros for U2 touch downs there.
