Have a 72 Challenger 340 Rallye with what seems to be original Federal pump.

I have been looking for a replacement. Not easy to come by.

What do I need if converting to a Saginaw? They seem easier to come by.

Thanks.

Why don't you rebuild your old pump? A rebuild kit runs about 13-15 bucks on eBay. That way you can keep your original pump! I rebuilt my original on the 440. Takes about 30-45 minutes and your back in business. Just a thought.

Maybe you could find a different housing for it and put in a new o ring in? If you change to a Saginaw pump, you will need a different bracket set up and probably different hoses. I would try my old hoses first on the Saginaw to see if they would work unless you were going to replace them anyway. I like the Saginaw bracket set up better than Federal, but they both work fine. Classic industries sell the bracket kits for all three types of pumps.
