Hello everyone, my mother in law finally decided to sell her 70 Cuda. She acquired it in her divorce about 33 years ago and has literally held onto ever since. I myself am a car guy, but not a Mopar specialist by any stretch of the imagination. I’ve done some homework and got a lot of info from the fender tag. Looking for some realistic advice on what is a fair/honest price to ask for the car. Its a 383 3 speed car.

The fender tag looks like it is off another car (it is black while the screws and inner fender are purple) and the car has a flat hood. Do the partial VINs, door sticker and VIN tag numbers match the fender tag?

That is a very good question. I’ll go double check the numbers and see why I can find. Worst case, numbers don’t match... would you have a guess of what the car like that would go for? Wish I had more history on the car, but the info is sorta unknown .

Yup, I would say the fender tag doesn’t match the car. Kim

Just from that one picture you can see parts missing already and a lot of rust. How complete is the car and is there a title for the car? Huge difference in value depending on what it really is,what’s missing and how bad it is.

If I sent the vin would anyone be able to tell me if it matches the fender tag?

Easy enough to tell. the bottom line on the fender tag is the VIN, BS23N0E113546. You should find this same number on the dash VIN. You should also find a portion of this number (E0 113546) stamped into the car's body, on the back of the radiator support and the upper cowl on the driver's side. The fender tag is easy to switch. Not so much with the body numbers. Even if it does not match there is still value to the car, just not as much.

Thank you guys for all of the input. it's a California car so the rust isn't that bad, just a lot of surface rust. It's been wrapped up like a burrito for 30+ years. The pictures are from the day I uncovered it. The car has a short block and trans in it that have been exposed to the elements ever since she's had it. It would be best sold as roller in my opinion, and I'd say it's 80-90% complete as a roller. Does anyone have a rough price range assuming the numbers don't match ? I have more pics I can include as well. I just see these cars vary so much in price and in much worse condition. I have a couple extra front fenders as well. In the mean team I'll check the vin to see if they match.

Well, we need better pics; especially of the trunk, and floors, underneath, interior etc. Are they solid or do they need replacing. The roof looks like it is dented, could be a bad pic. The drive train is locked up....

The car, even if solid, may have numbers issues, is not that desirable (option wise) but it is a Cuda. My guess 3 to 5K, depending on how it looks in person. Just my two cents.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well. I just checked the VIN and it does match the fender tag. I have to really get under it and see what the floors and trunk look like. I plan to get it out and onto my car hauler this weekend and take a ton of pictures. I'll post the car on the classified section and see what happens. I appreciate your input. I had to ask... these cars with the right options are through the roof. Not being a versed Mopar guy I wouldn't even know!

They’re through the roof after you emptied your bank account into it!

413 what part of my post do you disagree with? every word is correct, BigVog20 has confirmed the other numbers don't match the fender tag so what is it you don't agree with? I am getting tired of seeing people disagreeing with clearly correct comments it just displays a complete lack of intelligence.

I would check the engine numbers on that block before you write it off it could be original to the car

He said the fender tag does match the vin and hasn’t said anything about the rest of the numbers but I do agree it’s BS to leave a red X without explanation.

The fender tag is from a TX9 (black), H51 (air conditioning) car. The fender tag is mounted on an FC7 (purple) inner fender with an FC7 painted screw. Seems odd that the screw was painted and not the fender tag if there was a color change. Has it been confirmed that the dash VIN matches the fender tag VIN? Is the dash an AC dash?
