71 challenger rt?

Is it possible to have a rt car with a vin number starting with JH? Ill post some pics. I cant find a build sheet and no fender tag.

Looks like a great project.
RT cars will always have the JS designation!
Your car appears to have the RT components; black RT grill, rear quarter louvers, blacked out rear tail panel, and the RT hood.
It is possible that those items could have been added/modified at sometime in the car's history. The hood was available as an option.
JH Challengers in 1971 could have come with a 340 or 383 with the dual exhaust and cut out rear pan. Does the serial number start with JH23H or JH23L or JH23N?
H=340, N=383 -4 and L=383-2. What engine is in the car?
Does the car have the rallye dash?
I would explore deeper and look at numbers on the cowl top, and radiator frame. A JH car with the performance options is still a rare, cool and desirable Challenger.

Thats kinda what I thought. This car has disc fronts, 340, rt fins on quarters, front fenders, as well as rear tail panel. Its a strange deal. The badging looks period correct as appears to have aged with car.

The interesting thing about 1971 Challengers; two performance engines in the JS, RT models were also available in the JH cars, and the 340 was available in the JS RT model in 1971, but not in the RT in 1970. The 383 was still the standard Challenger RT engine in 1971, the 340 was an option that cost more!

Its the JH23h vin. It does have the ralley dash....150mph speedo. The car is has an original 30128 miles on odometer and title. It also has a good bit of northern ohio cancer. Rails are good though, go figure.

It's a 71 340 Challenger, non RT. The main differences are in appearance, such as decals, scoops, hood.

The 1971 Challenger w a 340 is basically an A66 Challenger.
Always thought it was interesting that the 340 was available in the both the non RT and RT models in 71!

I haven't found a fender tag as of yet. Looked everywhere for build sheets also. Finishing my 69 charger before i tear into it too deep.
