Wiring from Alternator on Hemi

Hey Guys,have a 70 hemi Cuda[clone]On the passenger side V/C being held down with fact style clips there is a "plug"[around # 6 lead wire]it has approx. 6 wires feeding into it,grey in color,and some of the wires seem to come from the alternator.You can actually see this grey plug in my profile pic.My issue is it appears some of the wires on the front side of that "plug" seem to have gotten hot at 1 time and started to melt.Can someone pls tell me what you call this plug,Is it available to buy just that forward part?Where does the wiring go from there?
Hope someone can help me and hope I provided enough info...

Post of few pics of what you need help with.
See if it can be found in the factory wiring diagram if you have a service manual.
If it comes from the alternator maybe it was the old regulator plug.??
