So I have been rebuilding my 73 cuda and have installed a new sanden type ac compressor and appropriate brackets. The motor has been rebuilt and I want to start it without an refrigerant in the AC system.
At this point I do not have the hoses etc to complete the AC system but wanted to mount everything so I can get the fan belts in to run the alternate etc.
Will I harm the compressor spinning it without refrigerant, the electrical will not be hocked up so no change of turning it on by accident.
Please advise

thanks to all

Ralph

Hello, can I ask what kit you used or where you got your Sanden mounting kit?

I did the same thing and we first modified the old compressor bracket- actually cut it and was able to mount the Sanden (That was on the small block) Since changing to the 440, we again modified/ cut some stock steel, sanded and basically made the bracket.
I'll post pics of it on here this weekend.
