I have a 70 Challenger RT with what I believe to be the original 14" rallye wheels and P215/70R X 14 tires. Going to be upgrading to 15" rallye wheels and tires. The car is not driven hard or raced. What width rallye wheels should I buy and what size 15 " tires? Second question, my 14" wheel centers are excellent. Are they by any chance interchangeable with the 15" wheels? Thanks.

The centers will fit the 14" and 15" wheels. If you're going for a factory look, if you ordered 15" rallyes for a 340-383-440 car they were 7" wide and you got E60x15 tires on all four corners, if you ordered the 426 then you got F60x15.

If you're not concerned with stock I like the look of 15x7 in the front, and 15x8 in the back with something like 235-60-15 and 255-60 15 tires.

Thank you. I am currently leaning towards 15 x 7 Rallye wheels with P225 70R X 15 tires. From what your reply indicated P225's should work without any interference.

I just bought 15x7 fronts and 15x8 rear rallye wheels. I was thinking 275x60x15 rear tires and unsure on the fronts.... 235x60x15 or like you mentioned 225x70x15, this would give the nice ride height but narrower than 60 series, less chance of tire to fender and frame contact...any views on this combo? 255x60x15 are nice as well, but I am looking for a big more tire in the rear wheel well.

I've just bolted a 15x8 wheel with 4" backspace on the back of my 73 Cuda with a 255/70-15 tire on it. That's 29" tall. Really fills the wheel well and because of the offset, I may need to roll the fender lip. Tons of room on the inside to the leaf springs. These were not my first choice but I got them cheap and needed to replace the 15 year old 14"ers. Also got a pair of 15x7 for the front and picked up a set of used 255/60-15 for them today. According to the calculators, they should fit but I won't find out for a week or two until I get the front suspension rebuilt. Should look pretty nice if it works out.
Moral of the story is if you are going 255 or bigger, you better pay attention to the backspace/offset dimension. There are several calculators online that help you compare to the wheel/tire you currently have and let you know how much room you gain or lose on each side.

Hi, your 255/70/15's are 29.1 tall and 10" wide a 275/60/15 is 28 tall. 10.8 wide
I think a 4.5" offset would work on either tire without a fender mod. IM not sure what wheel your using with 4" backspace
Actually 255/60/15 is 27 tall, 10" wide no issues with this tire either.
Try this calculator ,its very handy Tire Size Calculator

Yes, looks good, I am looking at 225/70/15 for the front on my 70 Challenger, this was recommended to me by a speed shop. Looking over posts on here I see a lot of 235/245/ 60/15's being used..... So looking into what works best. 275/60/15 my choice now for the rear with a 15x8 4.5 backspace rallye wheels.

I use 15x7 with 3.75” bs up front and 15x8 with 4.5” on the rear with 235/60-15s front and rear. The tires are equivalent to E60-15s. I can go bigger in the rear but wanted OEM size. No issues up front and tons of room in the rear.

I also use 15x7 with 3.75” bs up front and 15x8 with 4.5” on the rear with 235/60-15s front and 295/50-15 on the rear. The fit perfect on both my 70' Challenger & on my 70' Charger.
