Mind is a 70 gran coupe with SB, Auto, and 8-3/4.
Have SS Spring so it has the perked up ass end.
Really don't want to do leaf spring relocate or mini tubes if i can get away with it.

running a 8" wide rim with a 26/10/15 slick right now but with my new 4200 stall converter, it just not enough traction any more.

It's still a full body car that i don't want to go cutting into, if i don't have too.

Any one snuck in one of these slick with minimal grinding?????
And if so, what did you have to do.

Thanks

4200 stall convertor??? sb what size? stock ? Cake and eat it. Custom offset wheel is all you can do stock. Sneak a tire too wide for the opening ? How do you sneak one in ? No body looking ? Spring relocation is the easiest and least expensive way to do it right. Not a show car I guess. Not a sleeper. Lack of traction is more than tires. Suspension is not setup and/or working correctly.

Its a 408, 12.8:1 compression, Hyd roller cam, .562 lift 247 @.050. RHS Heads. Hooker supercomp Headers, and 4.56 rear end gears.
I here that they don't make the spring relocation kit for a E-Body and more. and I"m no fabricator.

Would love to hear your thoughts on tuning the suspension! oh! and it has MP drag shock and some old stock shock up front. adj pinion snubber on the front.

The offset kit can be installed by most any local suspension shop. Pretty much a blot in except for the spring pads. Those need to be welded to the housing. Again, easy for most shops. The offset kit allows a very wide tire to fit in the fender wells with no grinding.

I have a set of 255/70-15 on the back for the time being on my stock rearend. That is equal to a 29x10R15. They are on 15x8" wheels with 4" backspace. It is as wide as you can go without rolling the fender, but I have a good 1.5" to go on the inside to the spring. with a 4.5-4.75" backspace I could fit another inch wider tire. So I think you should be able to fit a 28x10.5 with the right wheel selection.

Look into Calvert Racing , their set up hooks really hard.

A 28" X 10.5" tire should fit in with no modification with the right wheel & back space. A 15" X 8" with a 4.5 B.S. for sure, Maybe a 15" X 10" with a 5" b.s. should work also. I wound up mini tubbing mine & going with a 315/60/15 drag Radial (or 29.5" X 10.5W)on a 15" X 12" wheel.

I have 275/60x15 tyres they rub on the front and just fit the back with unmodified wheel lips I don't think you could fit a wider tyre then these without modification.

Mopar Performance no longer does, but Doctor Diff sells one now.
Mopar '70-'74 E-Body Spring Relocation Kit Offset Hangers/Shackles
Thanks for that!!!! I got online and order that kit.

also, check out the linked article below, he ran 26x12.50x15's. You may be able to get 28's with your SS springs.

Thanks for the link. It helped with my decision

Agree, but not in my budget.

So This video is why Im doing what i'm doing
The video is long but if you got to the 1 m 18 sec mark and watch them 25 year old SS Spring are doing. Even with clamps on the front segment.............WOW

Ok so i have bought some 3800 pound SS Spring, Spring relocation kit with new perches, and while I'm at it. It' a good time for a back brace for that 8-3/4

I think you are going to have pinion angle issues if you mount the spring perches there...

still need to weld my purches to the housing, but there it is.
that's at ride height and if they don't sag to much they clear.
If they do i will have to step back a tire size or pay to have it mini tubbed.

Looks like it sits high. You should have plenty of clearance. Here is how mine looks mini tubbed with -1" springs.
