Will these seats/brackets/sliders fit good in a 70 Challenger with a tall driver? I'm looking at the GTS II reclining seats and I'm 6'2". Thanks.

Yes I'd love to see some pics! That is crazy that we are the exact same height and weight, I live in Ohio too.

I've always had A-body cars and I've always had to bolt the slider brackets right to the floor so my helmet would clear. This is my first E-body and I haven't driven it yet, I don't have seats, so I haven't been able to see if there's more headroom in an E-body. My 70 is also a manual shift car.

small world!! I didnt get a chance to get pics but, Ill do it tonight...you might look into the sport line..they are about an 2.5 inches off the ground..which gives you alot more head room....I was also afraid they would be too close to the wheel but the seat is all the way back and I sit perfect......I did buy myself(and you might consider as well) a sparco d shaped steering wheel for my xmas present to make it easier to get in and out of the car and also give you a lot more leg room....It hasnt came yet but Ill get you pics of that as well...the factory wheel is just too big for a tall guy to get in and out of the car! Ive had my car for 5 1/2 years and still havent driven it...but a couple of days in my buddys shop and Ill be up and running!!

I bought these cheap seats off E-bay (they are black with red stiching, the flash makes them look gray) for my 71 Barracuda. They are fitting nicely with the sliders that come with the seats and 1/2 square tubing brackets I made. They feel like I am sitting at the same height as the stock driver seat, although I am only 5'9", so head room is really not an issue. At 6' 2", I think your head would be hitting the headliner. Rod

Thanks guys, great info and pics!!
I'm buying everything from Summit Racing so I'll buy the seat bracket for one side and test it out, if it doesn't work for me I'll just return it and mount the sliders to the floor.

I ended up ordering the leather GTS-II seats, had them shaved an inch so they're supposed to be 3" thick now. I went with the 'Wedge' brand brackets because the local race car shop said they fit the best and fit the lowest.
Initial install was not good, the brackets fit the floor nicely but the seat was a couple inches too far forward, luckily I was able to bolt some steel extensions to the sliders so the seats can slide back 2 more inches, now I'm happy, I can wear a ball cap in the car and the seats are pretty comfortable.

Front of the seat is the highest point, it's about 6.5" from the floor.
