I have a 6-Pack intake i bought a couple years back to use in my barracuda, but I have decided to go a different route.
I don't know anything about these intakes, I do know it is a real original A12 Aluminum Intake though. It has the goofy 6 on the casting number and it does not have the CH6B...
I considered it. But only the front quarter of the passenger side was rusty and the tunnel was about flawless and the 4speed hump takes a bit out of it anyways. I don't mind a little extra work to keep as much original sheet metal as I can. I agree that it definitely would have been easier though.
My left floor is now tacked into place, and all of my front suspension has been painted. Any advice on good strut rods? Mine are pretty rough and I have put the strength plates on the lower control arms and have QA1 upper control arms, so I might as well go for a little better strut arm as well...
Back from the dead!
It has been a very busy few months. I spent January in Neenah, WI for an internship, then had to get back into the groove of school. I have been off and on working on the Barracuda. We have been getting an unusual amount of snow
Since, my last post.....right half of the...
Seeking advice!
I am about to order bushings for my lower control arms. My pivot shafts are in great shape and so are the shells, is it okay to run the original shafts in poly bushings if I grease them correctly? Or do I need to order a kit with greaseable shafts?
Hey guys. Both of my inner fender Wells were detached from the cowl when I got it. Replacing the brackets there now.
Can someone provide me the measurement between the upper hole of the inner fender to cowl brackets?
I need the measurement between the hole I'm pointing at here, to the same...
Just an update on this. I ordered and installed another AMD Shock Tower. They told me to mount it how they send it and that the bad measurement has not posed any problems.
I thought I would share a picture to show what I saw when I got the shock tower and why I thought it should be approached...
I can get the inner fender well in the correct position, the shock tower will just clearly be crooked.
I think that is the case, I may order another shock tower from another company and see how the measurements come on it.
I am not sure how this has gone unnoticed, it must not be too vital to suspension....BUT:
I ordered both of my shock towers for my '70 Barracuda and I installed my right hand first because i have to do my left frame rail as well. I took way too many measurements before cutting the tower off...
I have welded in the shock tower on the right side. It turned out very well! I did a small patch on the firewall underneath the inner fender to firewall piece, then made the top half of the panel as well. the only part holding me back from welding in the cowl and the right inner fender is some...
Some more progress!! Some patches on the frame rail, and getting ready to install the shock tower. I finally got a different phone so I can take good pictures.
Got the transmission done today. Cast iron paint on the whole thing, I don’t want it to rust. I know I stamped it the wrong color, but I’m not too concerned about that, it looks pretty.
All new bearings, gaskets, and synchro rings. Cleaned up the Hurst shifter and painted the link rods...
Moved on to some patches on the firewall. A couple more patches and some b5 blue and the upper cowl can go back on! I probably should have replaced the whole firewall, but this is a great spot to work on my metal skills before I move on to some highly visible areas.
Also finished up my 4-speed...
Looks great! I hope you plan on keeping those stickers on the bumper, I always think it is cool to see a fully restored car with some pieces of what it once was. Keeps the history, but also looks brand new.
The right hand A-Pillar is done and welded in. This one went a lot more smoothly than the other side. Practice makes perfect. The left side I just tried to bend the metal on top of the pillar out of the way which of course distorted it too much. This side I decided to cut the metal off to be...
