Throttle cable and transmission cable bracket

I’m swapping on a new intake and Holley on my 440 in my challenger. I have a lokar kickdown cable that I’m planning on using instead of the linkage. I plan to use the stock throttle cable. What bracket works best for this combination? I’ve never used a kickdown cable before. Always linkage. The...

54 Desoto. I’ve had it for 21 years. I gave 600 bucks for it when I was 19. Been stashed in my shed for 15 years. I drug it out Saturday. Had it fired up Sunday. It’s time to get it back on the road.

Head volume effects on compression ratio

I have a low mileage 440 from an rv. I’m thinking of swapping on edelbrock heads. I think the compression ratio on this engine is around 8 to 1. The 452 heads have 88 cc chambers if I remember right. The eddy’s are 75 cc. Shouldn’t that put it close to 9 to1 ratio? That with a dual plane intake...

Timing chain dots. Am I losing my mind?

So I tear into a 440 today to swap the cam. I set it to TDC 0. Check the rotor is pointing half out. Turn it another rotation and put the rotor right at number one in the distributor. Take it all down except the distributor. Both dots are up. Shouldn’t the top dot be down. Dot to dot. This is a...

I’m thinking of a cam swap. Give me your opinions.

74 challenger. Motor home engine. 440 The cam in it is crane xe274h-10. Stock low compression. I didn’t do the work to it. It runs good but idle sucks. Not horrible don’t get me wrong but I want a smooth idle. I won’t ever probably go past 5k rpm. I just want to drive it around. What do you...

What’s missing on my challengers steering wheel?

There are 3 dots on the horn button. Not sure if an emblem is missing or someone modified it. It’s a 74 rally car if it matters.

    Motor home cast crank damper

So my challenger has a motor home 440 with a cast crank. The balancer is new unknown brand but looks like a steel crank balancer. The issue is some vibration at idle. I thought it was a misfire but now I’m thinking not. Goes away at around 1200 to 1400 rpm but it feels like solid mounted engine...

Few years went by. He got married. Started a family. Let it go. I was born in 80. No siblings. The...
