WTB Heater box vacuum actuator 3441324

Fixing my 1972 Challenger heater box and all vacuum actuators work except the one marked 3441324. It’s got a leak on the inside diaphram. Anyone have a spare for sale? Thanks, Mike.

    Radio bezel openings

The Challenger radio bezel looks to have 2 rectangular openings. The large top one is for the radio unit obviously, but what is the smaller, lower opening for and the circle cutout to the left of it? Mine was just an empty panel as seen below when I got the car. Thanks! Mike.

    Texture on dash panels

Wondering if there is a paint to reapply the texture on my plastic dash panels like the radio panel in the picture. It looks like the texture is rubbing off to a smooth finish underneath. Or should I just remove what’s remaining and go with the smooth look? Thanks!! Mike.

    Floor dimmer switch connector

As you can see in the pic below my floor dimmer switch connector has seen better days. I’ve search the web for a replacement with no luck. Are these available anywhere? I can find a pigtail connector but it doesn’t have the plastic base plate. Is that base plate necessary? I can see the...

Kickdown bracket worn out or not?

Here’s a picture of the adjustment piece of the Kickdown bracket on my 440. It’s a single rod setup. Is the hole shown in the picture worn out of round or is this the way it’s supposed to be? The hole on the other side is perfectly round. I can’t find a picture on the web for reference...

Rear interior panel ash tray cutouts

I got my new interior rear panels for my Challenger today and noticed that the ash tray cutouts were not there on the armrests. Would you cut them out to install the ash trays or leave them deleted. If you’d install the ash trays how would you go about cutting the panel to do the install...

    ID these seats?

These seats were in my 72 Challenger when I bought it. I’m not sure the style was an option for a Challenger but I really like the look of them. Obviously, you can see they need to be redone so I’d like to find these seat covers if they are available. I’d appreciate y’all’s help identifying...

    Rallye Clock Repair

I found a couple of 10 year old threads but wanted to see if there was any new information on repairing the Rallye Clock. Mine does not run when hooked up to power nor does the time adjustment work. I found info on Redline and a quartz conversion kit. Anything new I should be aware of?

How do I get these knobs off?

I’m disassembling my 72 Challenger’s dash and can’t figure out how to pull off the two knobs that change the clock and trip odometer. It looks like they need to be off to remove the gauge faceplate. Thanks for your help! Mike

    Valve cover orientation?

My 440 was rebuilt prior to my acquisition of the car. I'm curious if the valve covers are installed correctly left/right. On mine the PCV valve cover is on the passenger side and the breather & oil filler cap cover is on the driver's side. Is this correct or does it really matter? I've seen...

    Broken grill tab suggestions

I tried some JB weld on this broken tab from my 72 grill. It’s the center tab on the bottom of the grill. As you can see it did not take. Anyone have a better solution? Other than that the grill is in excellent condition so I can’t justify sourcing a new one. Thanks!!

    Fuel system line sizes question

I've just finished running new fuel lines on my 72 Challenger. Since it has a 440 I ran a 3/8 inch supply line. What I'm seeing is the fuel pump has 5/16 inch ports in/out as does the vapor separator and my Edelbrock carb has the 3/8 inlet port. Question is..... do I run all 5/16 fuel hose from...

New Pitman arm not seating fully

Hi y’all. I’m replacing the pitman arm on the 72 Challenger due to the ball joint seal being trashed. However, I’m not able to get the new one seated as fully on the power steering box splines as the old one. Any tips? Thanks!!

    Tire size affect speedo?

I’ve been reading through a bunch of posts about changing the tire size on our cars to wider tires but keeping the same aspect ratio ( like from 215/60 R15s to 255/60 R15s). Has anyone seen a change in their speedometer reading due to these types of tire changes? Seems like if the new tire...

    Finish on rebuilt Suspension parts

How do you guys finish your rebuilt suspension parts like control arms and strut rods? I just had mine media blasted. Do you go with powder coat, black oxide, paint or something else? Same for the bumper brackets? Thanks!!

    LCA slop in pivot area

I’m rebuilding the suspension on my 72 Challenger. On the LCAs, should there be any slack in the pivot area? I’ve got about an 1/8 inch or so of side to side movement on the torsion adjustor arm. Is this acceptable or should there be none? I don’t believe replacing the bushing will help will...

New member from south side of Houston

In Howdy all! I picked up this 1972 Challenger earlier this year. PO had done most of the body work and was starting to put it back together but needed $ for his other projects. It’s got a rebuilt 440 4 bbl with auto trans and factory AC. Pretty sure that hood scoop will not make the final cut!!
