1/4 Panel patch Repair

Hey I just got some rear 1/4 panel repair panels.Thought you might like some pictures of how I repaired it, I used 3m panel bond on the wheel well edge and bottom,The panel bond’s and seals the sheet metal,I also used metal etched to remove the rust on the inner panel before I replaced, the outer panel ,That’s been coated with weld threw primer a primer that has zinc in it for rust protection! Very important in body repair.

All welded in need to do some finish work will be ready for primer

Good job on the repair. Why did you drill holes where you used the panel bond?
Plug welded the holes , I used the panel bond for bonding and sealing the panel ,If you do it right you’ll burn some of the sealer but the rest is good then I’ll put body wax for the panel protection

All so if you look at the picture of the new panel set up for welding you’ll see some clear stuff it’s a product called Hot Block it’s made to control heating of your panels when you weld got my stuff from my tool guys , try eBay or Amazon.

I got them from CarID.com They’re 72-74 I didn’t need the side marker area , just below was what I need ,There customer service person was very helpful, He checked to see if they had them before I ordered them,I’ve had 2 orders placed in different venders Year one, AMD still waiting on them back order, They got them from a company called LKQ A after market Company for the Auto body trade, Check your local area for them or ask a local Body Shop, I’m a retired body man

Go to body shop and look for 2 more posts I put up one show’s the repair panels w/ parts numbers

Thanks for the tip. Unfortunately they don't make the right side for the Challenger anymore but they do have the left side skin so that will help someone. Today I was able pick up a pair of Challenger skins from a local outfit called Layson's Restorations so that worked out form me. Thanks Bug guy.
