1970 center console

Hey mopar folks.

my question is - on my 70 challenger is there a big square hole in the rear end of the center console. I can imagine that its made for a ashtray, but cant seem to find any info about it anywhere. I know there is some differences 1970 - 1971- the 70 has a wider hole than the 71-
