Its red paint or rather it was. 2" wide applied with a brush. Here's a tech notes that was on here showing it.

Location
So. Cal. Riverside area Moreno Valley
Only on cars that came from the factory with Road wheels or Rally wheels where you could see through the openings of the wheel centers. Was not on cars equipped with standard steel/hub cap wheels.

Here's what I found when I did my brakes last year. Apparently the red was covered up in the first 34k miles before I got in 1982. The runs and rips make it clear the wheel went on wet. One of the shots shows it leaked inside the drum a little.

Interesting...
It appears very clean.
Fender tag and build sheet?
Looks like its pretty original but may have had a two barrel swapped for a four.
Looks like points may have been swapped for electronic ignition.

Or perhaps it is an A66 car that had a big block installed?
Reasoning is the road wheels and the absence of badging, wheel well trim.
Are the brakes 11" drums?

they removed it havnt found it but the previous owner marked all the codes in a book of codes.
it is an N code 4 barrel car , yes swapped to electronic ignition. They also have repair bills from the Orig dealer documenting the miles threw the late 70's and 80's and 90's to 53 current miles,
shame the dash cracked. Can that be replaced?
