I have been viewing some of the other members projects and thought I would share some of my own. I really enjoy seeing what others have done.
My 1974 Challenger started life as a 318/904 combo, Sunfire Yellow with a white interior, A/C, center console and very few other options.

Nice, I look forward to seeing more of it. Any plans on what you will do?

:welcome: board. Doesn't look stripped to me. I see A/c, Power disc brakes, 3 speed wipers, light package with fender mounted turn signals, Chrome mirror(s), rallye wheels, Bucket seats, console slap-stick. Not many more options. Radio type ? Gauge type ? Rear window defroster ? Power steering ? Good starting point.

Already well on my way. The pics are from a few years ago. I decided to build a driver I could drive from Washington state to Nevada (Reno) for Hot August nights. These are the next stage:

I was trying to find pictures when I brought it home after purchasing - the body, interior and engine were all complete but all needed work.

Good point - I guess I am viewing it from the performance side. I like a little grunt behind my toys. I have never been one to leave things stock (factory stock). I like the factory look but a performance factory look. I tried leaving the 318/904 pretty much alone (maybe a 4barrel and small cam?). I do like to race so here's one with my daughter getting ready to take it down the track:

The car had been hit pretty hard In rear quarter early in life - one quarter was replaced and the other was "repaired" (pretty thick bondo). The front pass fender was caved in from the previous owner backing his boat into it while parked in the back yard (where I ultimately retrieved it from). But all in all pretty solid and complete.

Time to assess the damage and condition of things - what needed repair and what was missing or damaged beyond repair:

I was able to get the drivers quarter looking much better but replacement will probably be needed eventually.
The front pass fender pulled out pretty good - enough to get back in reasonable shape without replacing.
The engine cleaned up pretty good, but oil pressure was low - good enough to make it on a multiple state road trip?

I will try to keep it stock in appearance and make it more of a driver I can use more and enjoy. I have my Barracuda which is more of a trailer queen, so I want to keep it simple, not so nice that you worry about parking it in public.

Looks like a good start, a 318 can be made to run strong just depends on your wants.

With a $500.00 budget the low buck 318 went 14.9 in a full weight Duster. If you have the $ blueprint just released magnum based 408's and they are on this site as well as the others. Just hit up Johnny Mac.
