Are both sides of the outer speaker grills the same? I ended up with a pair of them, but they both have the exact same markings on them (B/R) and the same casting number. For some reason I thought that there was a difference between the sides, but can't find anything that says one way or another.

Thanks.

According to the 70-71 parts book Left and right are different Barracuda R 2884691 L 2884687
Challenger R 2884682 L 2884678
In 71 both B and J cars use the same part numbers R 2884691 L 2884687
I have a 3 speaker dash with the grills in my stash I can look for numbers on them if you need, Let me know.

Both of the ones I have show 2884685 and 2884690BC and 46430 as cast in part numbers. If you dont mind looking, I would greatly appreciate it.

Ok I pulled the speaker assemblys from the dash, both of mine say B/L go figure how that can be, dash pad is from a 72 Cuda sure looks original to me.
I've had this pad since the very early 80's I have the radio and cassette out of the car as well so makes me think it was original
So my question would be did you try the grills in the dash? Maybe you have what you need already.
Let me know if I can help further.

Thanks guys for the help. One of the nice members here had a B/L grill he was willing to trade me for a B/R.

I wonder if this is a case like some of the side marker light housings where they had different castings that really had no physical differences.

rbbruno3 are your's for a 70? That would make sense as the grill's list different part numbers for a 70 Challenger verses a 70 Cuda. The J would be Challenger, the B Barracuda, then in 71 they used the same grill as the dash pads were changed to fit both J and B cars.
One thing about Chrysler, you're always learning something new!

I have a 70 challenger with the 3 speaker dash but I’m not pulling that apart to look. I picked this extra set up at a swap meet some time ago . So I don’t have any knowledge of what they came out of. One is a little bit flatter on one side versus the opposite side. ( same shape though) I sure as heck don’t know??
