4BBL Carb for a 72 Barracuda/318. Worth the work?

If you do nothing else it is not worth doing , , a Better swap would be to use a 500 cfm 2300 Holley 2 bbl carb , at least it has parts available to tune it . Every time I have swapped a 4bbl onto a 318 it creates very little gain + intakes are difficult to find , there were 318 4bbl intakes used on Caravelles in the mid 80s & there is a LD4B intake , all other intakes use the larger intake ports used on 340s & 360s & don't match .
If you build the 318 using higher compression or stroker kit , bigger / ported heads & better cam etc then a 4 bbl makes sense .

Cool...this will be a temp install...have a 340 in engine machine shop. Need to drive it awhile...6-month waiting list
