The 2 heater box doors, after i removed the dry crumbled foam, I found a sheet of clear plastic between the foam and the doors. Should I remove this also, then spray the adhesive, or just spray over the top? I have never seen this mentioned before.

Remove it and spray the adhesive. Worked well for me.

Another question...... with the Detroit muscle technologies rebuild kit you get 2 of the foams i am pointing to, they are called: Charcoal foam strips that seal where the inner heat/cool door (#3) closes on the box. One obviously went where i am pointing as there was some tape still there that needed to be cleaned off the metal. Where does the 2nd foam go? I'm rebuilding a 9/69 heater box... could there have been a change that added a 2nd foam someplace?

Give Loretta a call at DMT. She will be able to tell you.
I emailed them with the same picture and got this back on the 24th

Boy it’s been 10 years since I opened one of those boxes. I’ll dig through my old pictures and see if I can tell.
