New here from the 4abody’s only but I’m going to buy a 70 challenger and it needs a motor I have a 68 440 that I’m building and a 340 that has a 508 cam m1 intake 750 carb forged pistons ran 12.7 with 355 gears and street tires. My question is which is the better choice for the combo and weight.

Depends on what you want to do with the car; a SB car has less weight up front and tends to handle a little better whereas a BB car tends to provide more power (yes I know a SB can be made to make the same or more power).

A SB engine will provide more movement inside the engine compartment, a little easier to install and work on but ascetically the BB looks cool. I have a 70 Challenger with a 440 and a 73 Cuda with a stroked SB, they both have their appeal, just depends on what you want to see when you open the hood.

I always prefer the big blocks , they are a better design & easier to work on for the most part

I was never for handling so I went with a Hemi in my 70 Challenger.

Own a small block 340 Challenger now and have owned various BB Challengers in my early years.
It's been said already; but both are fun in their own way!
