And the E-body lends itself so well to this kind of build. Makes you wonder if the engineers had some kind of crystal ball back in the day that said, "30 years in the future people will want to build a car this way...so let's plan ahead!" :icon_mrgreen:

I left the floor boards open until I get my driveshaft (should be here in 4 weeks) I ajusted my driveline angle from the standard 3 deg down to 1 deg down. I wanted the tranny up into the tunnel more,it keeps the exhaust headers from pointing down towards the road and gives me more ground clearance so the car cound be lowered more. After clearancing the crossmember ,I boxed it with 1/8 steel plate I made my own mount from a piece of 2 X 1 3/4 6061 aluminum(see pics) The trans mount pad had a 4 degree angle to the crossmember ,the new mounting block has the angle milled into it.

TTI headers and front engine accessories installed. as you can see I have plenty of ground clearance for my header collectors. I will have to modify clearance the floor and tranny crossmember.

I finished the mods to the trans tunnel to fit the T56 6 speed. I had the raise the tunnel 3 inches and 4 inches in width. I made a square opening for the factory pistol grip shifter, boot and bezel. Looks killer
