8 3/4 " third member decode

Bought this rear housing and looking to install it in my 73 cuda. Can you help decode

1 1/4 " pinion nut

I know its a 489 case and I think the 8 24 72 stands for August 24 1972 build for a 73 model year.
Please look at the photo - is this a sure grip ?

I don't know the date code, but it is not a Sue Grip. I Sure Grip has a center section that look like the unit pictured below. The one in the picture is clutch style, there is a cone style that looks different, but either way, yours is a open unit.

3.55 ratio, "489" case takes a 1-7/8" tapered pinion shaft.

OK, looks like I have a good patch for my car but need the sure grip.
