The text below is a copy past from my Facebook listing. Basically, I bought a nice AAR just pull my original motor from it and put in my AAR. Now I’m selling this one with no motor.

Ok, the car is home and I don’t plan on getting the motor out until our weather improves... because this motor is the matching numbers to my other AAR. It is also easier to move around with the motor in it . I’ve received many messages - some are legit buyers. Others are just curious what my price is and hoping it’s some cheap amazing price. The price is $50,000 dollars (US$). The prior owner had the car for 30 years. He did drive the car and enjoyed the car. It is not a trailer queen, but still a very nice car. The price is the price. If you like it, come look at it or arrange for someone to look at. These are pics I have right now because it’s locked up in the trailer and it’s 6 degrees outside. Drop a motor in and away you go. The automatic transmission stays with the car. **** I do not know the whereabouts of the original motor to this AAR.****

It’s pretty kool that you located your original engine, good for you! Where’s the one you’re selling located?

The car is in Davenport, Iowa. Basically on interstate 80 at the Iowa / Illinois border. About 2.5 hours west of Chicago.

Did I read your ad right? You are selling the rolling shell with no motor for $50K?

Is the transmission matching to the car? Do you have a Build Sheet for the car? Do all the body numbers match? Do any motor accessories stay with the car? Air cleaner, Exhaust Manifolds, Intake & Carbs, Etc., Etc.? What do you know about the history of the car? Who restored or painted the car? What options does the car have? What rear-end and ratio?

Yes. You read it right. I don’t really call it a shell. It’s a fully restored AAR that Will need a motor and carbs and air cleaner. And yes, it’s $50,000.

The previous owner restored it. It was purchased in 1989. Restoration completed in time for 95 Nationals. Owner advised the car scored an 81 or 82 that year. He does not have judges paper work though. I’m keeping oil pan to carbs - I have a pair of exhaust manifolds for it. But next owner needs motor, carbs and air cleaner. Or buy warranty TA motor out of Ohio for $15,000 - it only needs air cleaner. But motor is a real warranty motor and completely rebuilt and ready to go - it also has exhaust manifolds. I have 30 years of saved receipts from prior owner. The guy I sent to inspect the car before buying, advised it is a high number 2 car and he’d give it an 8.9 on a 10 point scale.

No build sheet.
Rad support, original fender tags, cowl number, dash vin and door sticker all match.

The car does not have the numbers matching transmission in it.

Photo of receipt pile from prior owner. And fender tag.

Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in the car. And for all the ones who thought I was crazy to ask $50,000 for a “shell” or a roller - having no engine... well, I here is an opportunity to reflect. A super great, nice man and his wife bought it. He knew exactly what he wanted and what he was buying. He had a 340 TA warranty motor all lined up to drop in it. He has a beautiful car and a fresh built TA motor at a very good price. I think my asking price was pretty spot on. So as you look at the market... maybe file this sale under things to remember.
