Brake Caliper - Front or Rear Mounting Position?

I have a 1971 Challenger with 1973 spindles and rotors. For the front calipers do they mount in the forward or rearward position? To swap them can the caliper mounting adaptor be moved from one side to the other or does the entire spindle need to be swapped side to side?

The brake hose routing seems weird when the spindles are mounted in the rearward position.

Thanks,
Steve

Not totally familiar with the early a body brakes. Here is a link from "slantsix.org forum. The poster likes the Scarebird kit for the early a body disc brake conversions. From the post "Scarebird kit: $475
Master cylinder and booster (The Right Stuff): $232

So that totals $707. The SSBC kit was priced at a bit over $1,100.
Here's a link to the Scarebrid kit I got:

1960-72 Dodge, Plymouth "A" body, with 9" drums

The mechanic who did the install described the Scarebird kit as "a pleasure to work with" and said that it didn't require any 'shop floor mods' like some more expensive disc brake conversion kits they'd installed in the past."

The prices of course are a little dated
