Brand new bumper and bumperettes but the bumperettes don't fit.

I have a brand new bumper and brand new re-chromed original front bumper guards/ bumperettes. The bumperettes don't fit exactly right on the bumper. I tried both sides and every possible configuration. I think the bumper is not factory perfect to match the profile cut out of the bumperettes. <br>Should I put the bumperettess on and tighten them up and see if the bumper conforms to the shape of them or should I massage the bumper with a rubber mallet?<br>Any help is appreciated. I'll post pics soon

Contact the people who sold/made the parts first before you modify any thing. If you don't, you will void any warranty you might have.
