Anyone ever successfully rebond or repair the plastic studs on the console door connecting the 2 halves?

    Or lost cause?

Yes. It can be done. I had the tabs between the two parts missing. I used wood shims and a high strength epoxy to put the two parts back together. It is still good after 10 years.

Thanks Leo, but I saw the repro before and the grain is a bit shallower and the color would not match my old faded console.

However, If I cannot repair my old door, I will have to go with Tony's

    Thanks

It is not difficult to just re-dye the plastic on the whole console so it not only will match up but it will Pop when everything is cleaned up.

Can you recommend the best overall supplier of the dye system? I might give it a try

I agree epoxy will work I repaired mine and it is strong. I think someone pushed the latch button too hard or tried to force it when it was locked. I put a generous amount of epoxy around the broken plastic tabs now it's good as new.

I hate the dyes and even more so in a real driver since they scratch easier than the OE material.
