Hello folks...
I say hello to you from England.
Been working since January on 1970 Challenger A66 that I imported from PA last year..
I bought it as a non-engine nor tranny roller. Back in the day it was A66 340 plum crazy with a black butt strip.
I have got waiting to hop in 1978 440 +727 (yeah, I know) and that's best I can do right now...
There are loads of missing parts that I am gradually trying to source.
Bodywork is not in very good nick, but it ain't something I can't get right eventually.
All of the car work I do by myself and love it. Will be having a lot of tech questions and will try to be active and cooperative member of this group.
Apart of the car, I run lathes and mills in a workshop for living.
Thanks for having me here.
Drag

:welcome: to FEBO from New Jersey

Glad you were able to pick up a Challenger to import.
Good people here who will always offer help if needed!

(I track the A66 Challengers; be curious to see the tag numbers if it is there? Is she an automatic car, and what is the scheduled production date on the tag?)

Anyway; Best of Luck with the new toy!

Fender tag is present but rotten. There is inch and a half hole through it :)
Anyway I was able to read few codes that I will post later.
No buildsheet.
Dash, door, rad support and cowl vin numbers match.
It is slapstick, central console AT car.
11 inch non-power brakes in front, 8.75 with no brakes :) at the back.
Bucket seats.
And a lot of rust :)

What’s the build date on the door tag?

I am adding few pics of what I have been through so far... if here is not the place I will erase them, no worries, do not want to mess up forum's rules.
I have no conditions present for a proper resto, nor can afford one. So everything is die-hard work, some compromises maybe, but I am not troubled. Car is rust bucket, never going to be perfect and I just want it back on the road, among the living. It is so simple. For me.
However, all the rust and rot is going to get addressed.

PS: It is a no-budget, against the wind project so please understand why I fabricate parts instead of buying them.
PS: English is not my mother tongue, as you know by now :), so please excuse my confused thoughts, every now and then ..

Thank you all.
About the fender tag- FC7, H6X9, D32, A66, H41, JH23, J54, 26, Y05....
Can't read out any other codes.. there are five lines of them..
They only could be tell by looking from the back side..the face is heavily pitted.
Please see few more pics attached. I am nearly done with the inner fenders' hinge area. Few days ago I moved to the front left frame rail. It is bad there, but anyway I think it is going to get repaired nicely.
Sheet metal looks like close to 2mm thick so this is what I chose to use.
K member fixing point is milld steel block tapped 5/8 -11 thru. The plate underneath is 6mm mild.
Weatherman hinted on dry weekend here (!) and I will try to get this patches sorted then. I got a can of 3m weldthru today and should be ready for action..
PS: We moved to that house recently and did not have the time to erect even a some sort of a shelter for the beast. It is only doube-wrapped in plastic sheet for now , but in few months time this issue should be rectified by a makeshift garage from some variety..
Later..

Welcome to the site from Michigan, USA. Already a big improvement on your A66:thumbsup:. I wish I had your fabrication skills and keep on killing that E-body rust:D.

Welcome to FEBO from SoCal. Sounds like you have a great project going on across the pond. I’ve been to England several times I married a Brit, my wife’s side of the family live in Cambridge and all the others are in the mid-lands (Stoke-on-Trent). Been to London itself a few times. The Ace Cafe is one of my great hangouts. Especially when they have the American classics showing. A little bit of home there was a visit to Costco in London. Thanks, Al

Thanks to all for the nice words. .
Yeah, me and my family live here in the Kingdom over three years now...originally I am Bulgarian. It was there when I felt for a first time this thrilling passion named mopar. The Driver, movie from 1978, with all these burning tyres C bodies... crazy..I still love it :).. must have been about 10 back then..
Back there I had to leave behind a pending 75 Gran Fury project, but that's for another time..
Please see few more pics from the Craigslist ad of the Challenger and from the first days of getting acustomed what I got involved with.
Thank you.

Hello again,
been working till 1pm today, back home earlier than usual, got the kids from school and dived under her :)
It were few quite productive and pleasant hours for me.. not sure about the neighbours. .

Something odd happen though: while using a brand new 3m weld thru can spray the nozzle got partly blocked and the contain began leaking down the can, made a mess around.. now everytime I press the valve at the can's top it sprays well but also throws chunky drops out and leaks down the can , my hands and sleeves :) messy bugger.

Apart of that, work ran smoothly and nice.
A question: When I have a tech question to ask, shall I do it on the febo's tech main page or here is ok? I am not used to forums and it would take awhile to get acustomed I suppose..sorry if messing the forum up.. just let me know and I will rectify at once..
Another one- about front bumper brackets' mounting points on the frame rails- please let me know what threads are supposed to be found there? Also do anyone have a scetch/diagram/drawing of the mounting brackets please? I don't have these and by the look of it will have to make them..
Thank you guys ...will write again soon..
