Chrome voltage regulator

My T/A had a chrome voltage regulator on it when I purchased it. Was this original equipment on some of the Challengers or has someone changed it out? You can see it does not have a part # on it, but I have seen some pictures on the Internet where the voltage regulator had a sticker on the front with info including part #. Can anyone clarify please?

I don't think that came with a Mopar. I've had after market VR's with that finish. Rusts anyway.

Correct voltage regulator for the 1970 should look like this with the raised round "dimple" and the date code and P/N info stamped in white. This is what would have come from the assembly line...

Those chrome ones are NAPA/Auto Zone grade stuff.
