Original tack strips - some rust that can be removed, but main concern is the resin-impregnated cardboard in the channel. Have to pull out all the rusty staples and not sure if it would be smart to reuse it for the new top.

So:
- Reuse it as is - material still able to hold the staples just fine?
- Clean up the channels and somehow install new tack material? If I could find it that size?
- By the repro ones?
- Other suggestions?

Thanks

Buy new tack strip. Why take a chance on staples holding. Should be easy to find.

Anybody ever replace the old tack strip with a new plastic strip? Easy or a pain to get back in the stock channel? Thanks
