As the title says, looking for correct finish for 1970 booster. I am thinking it was black, and not the gold.

Booster and master cylinder was painted as an assembly, cheap gloss black. However, yesterdays gloss black is closer to todays semi-gloss.

How about 1971 Challenger power drum? Mine was gold on the inside, the outside had been spray bombed, Did they bother to plate them and then paint the assembly

You are correct, the 71 has a non-painted and different booster than 70 which was gold cad plated with a bare steel master cylinder.
