exhaust manifold studs on a 383 71 engine

My engine was just rebuilt and the engine builder did not put back the exhaust manifold studs. On the 383 engine the studs are 3/8".

Do I put some type of sealer on them ?

I remember something about them and the water jacket so they needed to be sealed.

I would install new studs & yes they all need to be sealed as they are open into the water jacket .
U se teflon tape + liquid teflon sealer

I've used anti rust as a lubricant and it will help in future removal of the studs. I've used it on a Gen 2 hemi and a 318 and no leaks.
