Is there a searchable online resource for E Body part numbers?

I'm looking for headlight, panel dimmer & 3 speed wiper motor switches for a '70 Challenger R/T and don't want to buy the wrong items.

Illustration page 8-62 of the 70_71_Mopar_Parts_Catalog3.pdf shows these part numbers:

8-53-270 Headlight switch
23-67-160 Wiper switch
8-53-150 Instrument panel dimmer switch
1-47-7 Rear defrost switch

I find the same part numbers on illustration page 8-47 in the 73_Mopar_Parts_Catalog.pdf, so these part numbers are used in multiple years.

But I come across other numbers on the forums for what appear to be the same parts. For example, Headlamp Switch #2947305 and instrument panel dimmer switch #2947713.

Anyone know where these other numbers come from? Is that resource easier to use than the PDF catalogs?

There are 2 parts to the parts books. One is the illustrated guide which is where you got the 8-53-270 from the illustration, and the other is the application section book. Thats how my 70 parts book is.
The 8-53-270 refers to group 8 which is the electrical section, then sub section 53-270 for the actual part number under the various car lines, like B/J for Cuda Challenger R/W for B bodies etc.
Sounds like you only have part of the book you need.
A member of this site, Devin Duke rebuilds theses switches and may be able to supply you date code correct switches if you desire them.

Thanks 704406. I found the parts book sections you mention. I've been checking the wiring diagrams and think the best place to start is the switch are the Headlamp Switch #2947305 and instrument panel dimmer switch #2947713. Is there a test procedure to check them before sending them out for rebuild?
