leaf spring advice

I've got my 71 challenger restored pretty much like I want it..it's the rear end is a little bit low..I'm running 245 60 15 on rear and 440 4spd motivator. The tires are very close to quarter panel. I have paperwork showing previous owner replaced springs approx 30 years ago. Should stock springs from summit (mopar brand) raise rear end enough.I would be happy with half an inch or a little more. I think the ones summit sells are the heavy duty ones for 440 s. My car was originally a 383 up.

I'd remove the ones that are on it and have them rearched if they are still in good condition otherwise.

Go on You Tube and check out Chrysler Master Tech - 1968, Volume 68-12 Extra-Duty Options there is some good info on there about leaf springs.

I just put on a set of the Mopar HD springs, and it raised my car about 1/2"- 3/4", I don't know how old the springs were that I changed out.

I found a company in Pennsylvania called espo springs that have some that are 2 inches more arch than stock....I'm afraid my car would have that hillbilly look I want to avoid..and they are almost twice what summit wants for the mopars.what kind of shop 'rearches leaf springs? Maybe I will get the mopars so there is no down time with my car in the shop. I do most my own wrench turning but I would leave this to a pro with a lift!

Just google automotive spring services or suspension specialists in your area. If you're just looking to gain 1/2" from a good pair of springs, reaching will be cheapest.

I really like my Espo springs, 1 inch over stock. The stock springs are too low, and there are many poor reviews for the Mopar springs.. do a quick search and see.

I agree m avoid the Mopar springs , they sag very quickly , You can just add 1 full leaf under the main in your springs & this will raise the car perfectly though or use abetter quality spring such as Espo

mopar spings are no good. Bought them from summit and no differance. Wheels in wheel well is factory so I added 2 leafs to the new Mopar set.

If you want to retain the original look don't use the Mopar springs from Summit i have a set & the ends of the springs are flared out like mushrooms rather the tapering in like the originals.
Haven't tried to fit i will get my TA springs re arched

I agree , Mopar spring are cheap but you get what you pay for , simple put they are no good , I usually had to add 1 full leaf under the main leaf to get the right stance
