Lower control bushing question

Hi everyone, it has been a long time since I posted here, but I have a 70 Cuda, 383 and it has been about 3 years since I finished restoration, and now its time to get the front end back into shape. I have a question about the lower control bushing replacement. Do you have to remove the old sleeve for the new rubber bushing to be inserted in the lower control arm? The supply catalogs look like you can use poly without removing the sleeve, but I would sure rather use rubber if possible. Any help appreciated

The lower control arm bushing is an assembly, outer sleeve, rubber bushing, and inner sleeve.
The rubber bushing is very tightly compressed in between the inner and outer sleeves, I think it would be impossible to assemble it yourself at home with out the correct jigs that the factory has, if you could buy the pieces separately which I don't think you can.

If you are going with a rubber bushing, than you will need to remove the old remaining outer sleeve from the lower control arm. If you are going with a poly bushing then you would leave the old sleeve in.
I think now that there are poly bushings that are manufactured with inner and outer sleeves, just as the rubbers ones have been all along.

Welcome back, but first you need to show us some pics . You have got to remove the outer sleeve left inside the CA. Buy Moog brand.
