Hi,
Just joined, so thought I would say Hi.

I have had my 71 Cuda since 1985, when I bought it Muscle cars were dirt cheap. I paid the princely sum of £500, around $750. It was originally a 383/727, now it has a 521 Hemi/TH400

I’m sure it will upset many purists, as it’s a Street/Race car, but like I said they weren’t worth anything back then, so I had no qualms in cutting her up some.

That said, she is dearly loved by me ....

Cheers,
Mark...

Hi,
I live in the UK, no doubt a few will be upset now....
Prior to the complete rebuild, our best run was 8.01/172 in full street trim. Hopefully we can improve on that once I have finished the car..

Yes, Santa Pod, it’s the only track we have at the moment. Another tube chassis Cuda sounds good to me

Is the 8.01 metric time or standard time? Your story is similar to mine, bought 71 Cuda in 84 and put a crate 472 Hemi in it.

I have no idea what Metric time is ?

8.01 seconds for a 1/4 mile @ 172 MPH. This was with the old 572 engine. Had bags more in it, but chassis was limited to 7.50.

So decided on a new build, unlimited chassis & the new engine just developed as the project went further

"cutting her up some"...kind of like a minor flesh wound on Monty Python and the Holy Grail. Awesome car.
