New to this site..I have 71 Barracuda

I am from Minnesota. I have owned a 1971 Barracuda since 1998 or so. Was a 318 factory car and immediately installed a 440. It is green and I drag race it at BIR in stock classed and Strip Eliminator categories a few times a year. With a "stock" 440 setup, I routinely won the "Showroom Showdown" and my class when BIR (Brainerd) was heavy into the stock types from late 90's to early 2000's. That was fun putting 396 belly buttons, 455 Buicks, 428 Cobra Jet's, and 427 Vette's back on their trailer's. This was up until 2002 or so, and then everyone was cheating with stroker's and the Cobra Jet guy went all out with Jason Line to build him a motor. They disbanded that type of racing at BIR which was too bad.

Now I am building a 493 6 pack motor for it that is based on F.A.S.T. (Factory Appearing Stock Tire) racing. 14:1 roller, 452 heads, factory exhaust manifolds, 2.5 TTI exhaust,and Firestone "Wide Ovals" factory type tires.

I am glad to finally be part of this forum!

Here you guys go, 1971 Barracuda. I lost or erased some prior pics of it sitting at BIR. When I bought this car in the late 90's, it sat all weekend at "Mopars in the Park" in Shakopee, MN for sale and I got it for around 6k. It is a California car, then went to Iowa during its life.

Picture of motor was one that came out of car. It would run 11.6 @115 with heavy 6 pack pistons, SD intake, 850DP, 906 heads, Racer Brown 520 lift cam with stock stamped MP rockers, basic Hooker 1 7/8 comp headers, dynamic 9.5 converter and a 727 foot braked. Ran 11.89 with cast iron intake and Carter factory AVS (4968s-750cfm) . I do not have my FAST block back yet from the machine shop. Car will get black steel rims, Firestone Wide Ovals, and 2.5 inch TTI exhaust. 14.1 compression.....Custom solid roller -Comp-ordered through Porter Racing Heads, and some brand new 452 heads that are flowing 285 CFM intake. 6 Barrel set up, with cast Iron log exhaust. Should be fun at the strip.
I have never been the car show guy. If I own it, I race it. Interior is real black leather seats from a Cuda. I will post more pics once I get engine building going.
