my car is in the body shop and they have been sending me pics every once in awhile on the progress. I stupidly bought Goodmark fenders and they fit like $hit. Zoom in on the top part of the fender where it meets the door. What should I do? I know it’s not the body shops fault. Should I buy AMD? Are they going to be any better?

I also bought, and had problems with Goodmark fenders. The driver’s side was actually bowed along the hood line and later replaced with an AMD fender. I also had problems with the door point, on both sides, and the hood bumper fitting. But if your fenders don’t have any fatal flaws it would be cheaper to fix what you have. This gap was fixed by welding a piece of welding rod to the edge of the door, and grinding it to the correct contour.

The point of these pics is to show some of the mods you may need, none are that difficult. I do think AMD metal is better, but it is also not perfect and will also require minor work; at least all of mine did. This fender is a Goodmark, it had minor fitment issues and was missing the factory style insert for the hood bumper like the orange fender. AMD fenders do have this correct fitting.

I have included a link to my old photo album:

Thanks. I came across your album doing a search and saw your similar issues. I didn’t even notice the hood bumper insert. How did you fix that?

I knew I screwed up when I bought goodmark. I bought AMD for all of my other pieces and they weren’t perfect but better than this.

I agree with Adam. If that’s your only issue it’s a very easy fix. The AMD fender I bought for my challenger was terrible.
