From what looks like the water pump resting on the deck lid, I imagine it had overheating problem and the effort was there to pull the pump but not much more to deal with the rest, and then it sat for eons.
to me it's still pretty but in a sad way.
If its for sale, someone will definitely buy it.

It’s easy to see why burnt orange was popular, what a pretty color even on a car in this state of neglect.

I always had a "Vision" for a car like this.
It brings ideas of tubbing the rear end, a blower on a big block, a rollbar, a five speed, and lots of professional tlc in areas making it show worthy as well as street worthy.
Yeah? I know!
I'm hated now for suggesting that!
If it's any consolation, I would have it painted the same color!!?
LOL!
