I moved to the country after my divorce but I didnt have a shop to do any work. I had a few good buildings but they had dirt floors. So here is some pics of me converting a 24x24x10 building into my maintenance shop. I know kind of small but I have a 42x64 that is my cold storage and a 12x12 that is my heated flammable locker. Let me know what you think and any suggestions.

I removed 2' of subsoil and packed recycle concrete for the base. Next was the poly, insulation, a drain and pex.

I have 2x2 footings where I did not place the pex.
That’s what we call good planning. Ny shop had the floor heat and we bought a heat detection gun in hopes of locating the lines. We just changed all the ceiling lights to Led and what an improvement. Love your shop.

Thanx guys, I tried to think of everything. Of course I wish it was a little bigger but since I dont need to store anything in the shop I can have it dedicated to only being a shop.

Other ideas I incorporated was the welder receptacle near the hoist, a switch that controls the pressure switch on the compressor so it cannot run when I am not there. A urinal and a deep sink plumbed into the 10' trough drain that daylights out the back of the shop. Also no anchor tables. I learned for me a stationary work table is just a catch all. So I made some steel tables with 1/2" plate steel tops that are on 2,000 lb casters.

Thanx, after working in many different shops I think a mobile work bench is far more efficient than a stationary work bench.

What a GREAT transformation! Looks like you thought of everything. I agree, the rolling carts are so much more useful than stationary workbenches.
I'm sure you'll spend many happy, warm, productive hours in that shop - that is when you're not chopping and splitting fire wood!
