To quote the old song... " Those were the days my friend, we thought they'd never end..." I was telling my wife ( who is from the Philippines and had never been in a car in her life until 8 years ago ) that 45 years ago, when gas was 40 cents a gallon, all you had to do was pull into a gas station and a pump jockey would fill your tank, check the oil, wash your windshield, take your money and make change if needed; you didn't have to leave your seat. She asked why they stopped doing that. "Profits", I said.
