Did ALL T/A Challengers come with the Part #2229171 master cylinder ??

Based on the price I've seen on eBay for these (even the cores), I am assuming it is a rather rare part. What made them different from other master cylinders?

Any help with this question would be appreciated!

It is a rare part for sure. 2229171 is the casting number for master cylinder part #2944453. It is for all 1970 E-Body with front disc except 426 Hemi cars. The bore size is slightly smaller at 1" where the Hemi's have a 1 1/8" bore. Other master cylinders will work on the T/A so long as they're for front disc brakes. The correct casting number is for the purists like myself - I happen to still have the original master that came with my car. Hope this helps...
