Tall Rear Tire

I know this has probably been gone over ad nauseam, but it's kind of hard to find some really good pictures from the side, really comparing tire sizes.

I'm thinking about stepping up the size of my rear tires once I burn these ones off (they don't last long for me). Right now my setup is 235/60/R15 in the front, and 255/60/R15 in the rear. I'm not looking to modify anything at all, and I've read that the tallest tire you can fit in the rear is a 275. Is anybody running a 275/60/R15 in the rear that could share some clear pictures? In my opinion, I think the wheel opening could use a little more tire to fill it up. When I get to looking at my car for a long period of time (happens often), I can't help but think that the 255/60/R15 doesn't quite fill the wheel opening up enough... starts to look a little dinky. I think an extra couple inches could really do it some good. I included some pictures of my car with its current setup.

For street and highway cruising, I run 255-60-15 front, 275-60-15 rear (BFG T/As)... both on 15x8 minilite rims... good cushioning with my stiff suspension and a bit more ground clearance for the headers (body is lowered, as well).

I also have 275-60-15 on the rear of 71 Cuda. No mods needed.

275 is the width of the tire not the height. I currently have 255-70-15 on the back of mine and 255-60-15 on the front. The 255-70 is 29" tall and fits with no problem as long as the wheel offset is right. Without moving the spring, I think at least a 295 width will fit. If you move the spring, up to 335 is possible

Actually 295mm is the section width, not the tread as some people may think. Also that the diameter increase is divide by 1/2 because the axle is in the center of the tire. 1/2 above an 1/2 half below .

I personally Like the 275 50 , I use 555 Nittos
you can fit a 295 if you are using 17 or 18 " rims as there is less sidewall bulge
