Torque Converter Question

So I am finishing up a 1970 Challenger T/A. The car came with a rebuilt motor and transmission, but did not include a torque converter. In talking to a supply shop they are telling me that they can't possibly supply a torque converter without the original one since the balance will likely not be correct. Any ideas?

Thx

Original engine? A 1970 340 was internal balanced; so a neutral balanced converter is all you need. If you have a 360, or 73 340, that is external balanced you will need a weighted converter, or flex plate.

Thanks, I did some research and also called the engine rebuilder. I noticed on the invoice a fee for balancing the crank. It is the original engine. Think I maybe need to look at a different torque converter supplier.:thankyou:
