Wasn't sure where to actually post this. I recently purchased a 1971 car with a 440 HP Engine and I have a question regarding the driver's side valve cover. I am not sure what these 3 brackets are for. I assume the first one uses a spark plug wire clip and the other 2 are for the #7 spark plug wire. but all the pictures that I have seen of a 71 440 HP do not have these brackets. Looking at all the reference pictures for stock spark plug wiring clips and paths do not have the spark plug wires routed over the Valve Cover.
Does anyone know if this valve cover is stock? Or what it might be off of?

Just my luck if someone says a 1973 Winnebago. Ha-ha!

This should help you out: Untitled Document

The extra spark plug wire tabs on your D/S cover are probably from a non-HP application.

The build date for your car can also be a factor. I have an early-build 71 (Sep 70) that came with 70-style valve covers.

Thanks for the information Floyd! That helps me out a bunch. My car is also an early build 09/14/1970. It appears that I have the correct passenger's side but not the driver's side. Looks like I need to place an order.

Thanks again,
